The coastal landscape of West Wales provides the setting for this short film.
Animation, music and photography are juxtaposed in order to explore the liminal space
between land and sea.The film has evolved from an original piece produced as part of an audio-visual
performance with the composer Tom Middleton at the National Film Theatre, London.

Salt/Connections/Electricity
For our third week assignment in the Softness of Things class we were asked to explore connections.
I was really hesitant since I was not sure how to approach. I had been toying around with the idea of Moss and nature, the idea of floating devices, the idea of food as connector. I read the reading which talked about the different connections made in nature, rhizomes and roots.
I decided to go with food. Taking a cue from the Brazilian restaurants, where you are brought unlimited grilled meat in swords until you are satisfied and show a red stop sign or green go sign. I wanted to have something that would indicate when a bowl of soup was full or empty.
So I used soup to complete a circuit, and discovered that water is not necessarily enough of a conductor, it needs salt. Ramen was a very good conductor.
so here are some pictures.

Casa Crespo. Get Cooking
So after visiting the market we went to the Teatro Culinario, where all the ingredients were waiting for us. and we started making Agua de Jamaica, then off to making tortillas, gorditas, sopa de frijol negro, different sauces, mole, filled zucchini flowers, and at the end guacamole. (guacamole is made last so it stays green for the meal)

never get to part before Oaxaca at night. it sucks, it gets all curvy and and all double trailer semi take the road. apparently its better for the motor, and tires since they are cool. Plus the road is less travelled.

Some of them are quite aware that the road is not their and can signal you, but even with that is not advisable to take that road at night.
